EQUINE-ASSISTED LEARNING

Equine-Assisted Learning is an area of non-therapy services used in organization and personal development. Specially trained professionals use their knowledge and mounted or unmounted activities with horses to benefit the participants.
There are many different types of Equine-Assisted Learning.
Some of these include:
- Equine-Assisted Learning in Education where professionals can focus on life skills, including leadership, character-build, reading, writing, and other academic skills. Activities can include things like learning the different parts of the animals and how to annunciate the letters used to spell them.
- Equine-Assisted Learning in Personal Development where professionals can help individuals with life challenges and help them develop skills in effective problem-solving, memory retention, decision-making and communication. Activities can include things like escaping the maze while riding, which requires all aspects previously mentioned.
All of these activities can be done either mounted or unmounted with the supervision of a qualified member of the facility in use.
Equines for Fosters is in the process of getting different professionals from different occupational backgrounds to assist in these activities for fosters that join our program.
